Clearly the fan's favourite, at least until Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 arrives. Over 1.2 million copies sold across Europe though. Crikey!
FIFA 09 has become the fastest selling edition since the franchise begain, says EA. More than 1.2 million copies flew off store shelves last week, propelling the realistic football title to number one in the all-formats chart. The new game features a couple of revolutionary online features; adidas Live Season which updates player stats on a weekly basis, and 10 vs 10 online gameplay. However these brilliant new modes are only available to PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 gamers. FIFA 09 is available across all formats including DS, Wii and PSP.
Let's see what Konami's PES 2009 has to say about all this when it launches on 17 October. Meanwhile, congratulations to EA and FIFA 09. We'd say the game truly deserves it this year. In fact we did say this in our review last week, so there you go.
